Marske Bowling Club was founded by a group of would-be bowlers and a number of local businessmen following the donation of the land  by Lord Zetland. The land being for the people of Marske for use as sporting and recreational purposes. The playing area was developed to a competitive surface during the 1970's and following careful and expert care is now regarded as one of the best greens in the area. 

The original fabricated club house was purchased and erected by the member clubs of the Marske Sports and Recreation Association for use by them all. 

In 1996 permanent dressing rooms were built by the Bowling Club which was financed by the members themselves.

Thanks to the efforts of some of the members we also now have a splendid viewing facility where members can sit and enjoy watching games in a relaxed atmosphere.

As well as developing the club as a whole the bowling side has also seen notable improvements and now boasts 2 men's teams in the E.B.A. League, 2 mixed teams in the Cleveland League and the Cleveland Triples League, 3 rinks in the Teesside South Veterans League and a thriving team in the Teesside Ladies League. 

In addition all regular members enter the various and many League, County  and National competitions.
